WEST IRON COUNTY SCHOOLS

SAFETY ADVISORY

Dear Wykon Parents & Staff,

In our ongoing efforts to make you aware of matters affecting our school, we want to let you know about a situation that will briefly affect school today.

Both our Stambaugh Elementary School and Middle & High Schools are required to hold cardiac response drills, in addition to fire, tornado, lockdown, and secure drills.  So, today the schools will be placed in a non-emergency Hold status for cardiac response drills. In order to keep the hallways clear, all students and staff will remain in their classrooms.

The Hold should last about 10-15 minutes and then school operations will return to normal.

What is a Hold?

During a Hold, all students remain in their current classrooms and do not travel to other parts of the building.  Students will experience business as usual in the classroom, although they may remain there after a bell rings.
