Subject: Follow-Up on PowerSchool Communication

To West Iron Schools Staff, Students, and Parents:

This is a follow-up to our communication with you on January 8, 2025 informing you about PowerSchool (our student information system provider) having experienced a cybersecurity incident. This incident was through PowerSchool, and did not affect our district servers. Below you will find a breakdown of what took place, and what PowerSchool is offering to those affected by this cybersecurity incident:

What happened?

● PowerSchool, the company that provides our student information system, experienced a cybersecurity incident.

● On January 29, 2025, PowerSchool began notifying individuals whose information was involved.

What is being done?

● PowerSchool has engaged Experian, a credit reporting agency, to provide identity protection and credit monitoring services to current and former students and educators whose information was involved.

● PowerSchool is providing these services regardless of whether an individual's information was involved.

● Last week, Experian began sending direct email notifications to involved individuals (or their parent/guardian) for whom PowerSchool has sufficient contact information.

● These notifications will come from Experian, using one of the following email addresses:

○ Ps-sis-incident@mail.csid.com

○ Ps-sis-incident@mail1.csid.com

○ Ps-sis-incident@mail2.csid.com

● PowerSchool has also set up a dedicated, toll-free call center (833-918-9464) to answer any questions about these services and the incident.
