Meet Mr. Barry

Mr. Barry was born and raised in Iron River and is in his 29th year teaching at West Iron County. He graduated from West Iron County in 1979. He continued his education at Davenport College of Business obtaining an Associates Degree in Marketing-Management and Accounting. After working in the private sector for a few years he decided to pursue a career in teaching, graduating in 1991 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education with emphasis in Business Education. 

He was a substitute teacher (K-12) at West Iron for two years before being hired in the Business Department at West Iron County. While employed at West Iron he obtained a Master Degree in School Counseling. 

During his years at West Iron, he has served as Freshman Class Advisor, Student Council Advisor and Business Professionals of America Advisor.

Outside of school he enjoys being the PN Chair of WICEA Negotiating Team, many outdoor activities, hunting or just taking a quiet ride on the Side-by side enjoying the Iron County scenery. He has also been a Driver Education Teacher for the past 25 years.

Mr. Barry enjoys the time he spends with his children Brittanie and Marc and also grandchildren, especially those days at camp.
